Official language:
A language that may be used for official purposes, such as in the government, in court, etc. An official language is bound to an area. For instance: Frisian is an official language in Frisia, ehich is a province of the Netherlands, but not in the Netherlands. This means that both Frisian and Dutch (a state language of the Netherlands), may be used in courts in Frisia, but outside of Frisia, only Dutch may be used.
